Setomaa セト王国

After almost two years of correspondence JECC has finally visited Setomaa to meet the representatives to discuss how to proceed our collaboration further.

Setomaa is a region in southern Estonia which is a cultural icon with a unique, singing tradition, its own dialect and hospitality. Setos’ polyphonic style of folk singing, called leelo, believed to be more than 1 000 years old, was added to the UNESCO list of intangible culture in 2009.

We met with the Seto leaders and folks and covered a wide range of subjects: eco / cultural tourism, organic farming, product and package designs, export of mineral water, agricultural and handcrafted products, exchange of experts and consultants, various rural development projects, financial subsidies and so on.
